The procedures for registering in classes via Open University is as follows:
- Select classes from the CSULB schedule of classes, available at the bookstore.
- Secure an open university registration form from University College and Extension Services. For the Fall and Spring semesters these forms will be available starting the first day of the semester. Summer session registration forms can be obtained in advance.
- Fall and Spring
Attend the first class meeting and secure the signatures of the instructor and the department chair on the Open Univeristy registration form. Return the completed form to University College and Extension Services by the 4th week of the semester.
Summer
Complete the registration form and return in person or mail it to University College and Extension Services prior to the start of the semester.
*The College of Business Administration is an impacted major. Students must obtain the approval of instructor and the Associate Dean to get in to any Business course.
- If you wish to select the CR/NC or Audit grade option, refer to the back of the registration form for instructions and deadlines.
- Please contact UCES for deadlines. Payment is due at the time of registration. Fees for Open University are $200 per unit.
Summer 2008
Registration for Summer 2008 Open University will be accepted by mail, drop box, or in-person beginning Monday, April 7, 2008. Note: This date is subject to change. Please check this website for updates. Summer registration is on a first come-first serve basis.
Fall 2008
Registration for Fall 2008 Open University will be accepted in-person beginning on September 2, 2008. Students must obtain instructor and department chair permission to enroll in a class.
Spring 2009
Registration for Spring 2009 Open University will be accepted in-person beginning on TBA. Students must obtain instructor and department chair permissions to enroll in a class.
If you are currently admitted to the University and are classified as a matriculated student, you do not qualify for Open University. You must register through CSULB Enrollment Services.
