Abstract
On Tues, Feb 17, 2009, from 5:30pm-8:00 pm, representatives of local chapters of professional and technical societies involved with software and systems development in Los Angeles and Orange Counties will gathering at the Northrop Grumman "S-Cafe" off Marine Ave, between Aviation Blvd and Redondo Beach Ave in Redondo Beach, CA.
This second SSCC gathering is for general members, event coordinators, and officers of local chapters of professional or technical societies in the greater Los Angeles and Orange County area. The congress will feature various local chapters of professional and technical societies presenting their groups, events, and opportunities for involvement. The event will consist of refreshments, social and networking time, short (5 minute) presentations by various local chapters about their events, and tables for the chapters to distribute information about their group and events.
Schedule of Events:
- 5:00-5:30 - Setup
- 5:30-6:00 - Refreshment & visit society tables & network
- 6:00-6:10 - Welcome
- 6:10-7:30 - Chapter society presentations
- 7:30-8:00 - Visit society tables & network
- 8:00-9:00 - Chapter coordination meetings and cleanup
Participating groups will be presenting their calendar of upcoming events and looking to partner up to host larger events in the local area.
So, if you are an officer of a group who wants to get the word out, a member who straddles multiple groups and wants to see a joint event, or are generally interested in learning more about software and systems chapters in Los Angeles and Orange County, please feel free to attend.
RSVP is not required, but an email Warren Scheinin will help ensure sufficient refreshments. The S-Café is just south of Space Park building E2 where our regular SC SPIN meetings are held.
