The main program of the American Language Institute (ALI) is an intensive English language program which offers six levels of instruction year-round. Experienced faculty in small, interactive classes emphasize preparation for academic work at the college or university level. In addition, short-term programs are available in spring and summer for students with less time to study. The first California program to be accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation (CEA), the ALI provides a full-service program on a vibrant campus. Students at the upper levels can mix and take classes with CSU Long Beach students for a more well-rounded collegiate experience.
