Diversity Leadership Award

Marianne Venieris, Executive Director of CITT received the Diversity Leadership Award from WTS-LA, presented during the WTS February luncheon on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2008 at the Millenium Biltmore in Los Angeles.  The award was presented by Vice President Gloria Dixon of Dallas Area Rapid Transit.

2007 Outstanding Program Award

The Global Logistics Specialist (GLSŪ) Professional Designation program was honored with the 2007 Outstanding Program Award by the University Continuing Education Association (UCEA) in recognition of excellence in achieving its educational objectives and making an important contribution to the field of continuing education. The award was presented to Marianne Venieris, Executive Director of CSULB's Center for International Trade and Transportation and founder of the GLSŪ program, at the UCEA 92nd Annual Conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, on April 13, 2007. UCEA is among the oldest college and university associations in the United States. As the principal US organization for continuing higher education, the association assists institutions of higher learning and affiliated nonprofit organizations to increase access through a wide array of educational programs and services.

10 Year Anniversary of the GLS program

The Global Logistics Specialist  Professional Designation program received an award in recognition of the 10 Year Anniversary of the GLS program.  Marianne Venieris, Executive Director of CITT and Richard Hollingsworth, founding member and former instructor of the program were honored for their leadership and dedication to workforce development during the FuturePorts Luncheon held on Novemeber 15, 2008.

Harbor Transportation Club's Annual Year in Review Event

At the Harbor Transportation Club's Annual Year in Review Event, held on December 5, 2007, the Club formally recognized the 10th Anniversary of the GLS program and Marianne Venieris for her dedication and leadership of CITT that has benefitted the business community by providing quality trained and motivated professionals.

Marianne Venieris Honored With Stanley T. Olafson Award

Marianne Venieris, executive director for the Center for International Trade and Transportation (CITT) at CSULB, received the 2005 Stanley T. Olafson Award at the recent Foreign Trade Association annual World Trade Week luncheon and trade fair held in Los Angeles. CITT, a multidisciplinary center for multimodal transportation studies and research, education, training and policy analysis, is run through CSULB's University College and Extension Services (UCES).
