| Friday, March 5, 2004 Meeting Topic:Overview of the CMMI Requirements for Risk Management Presenters:
Warren Scheinin & Rick Hefner, PhD Abstract The missing presentation and other reports from the 5th Annual Risk Management Symposium As a service to the Systems Engineering and Risk Management Symposium, Warren Scheinin will present the presentation by Dr. Rick Hefner, which, due to a rescheduling mix up, was inadvertently missed at the 5th Annual Risk Management Symposium two weeks before (please see Dr. Hefner's information below). After giving this overview of the CMMI requirements for risk management, Warren will then present the more interesting quotes and paper abstracts from Aerospace, JPL, leading aerospace companies, and highly regarded consultants which he obtained while attending the Symposium. Attendees will get a snap shot of the current state of the art in risk management with emphasis on space systems. Your Presenters: Warren Scheinin, MSCS, is a systems engineer at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Space Park, where he assists projects in process improvement, maturity audits and assessments, and training. He has over 30 years of experience in software development and risk management on large and small projects, has developed division level policies and procedures, and has produced and conducted risk management training courses for several major aerospace corporations. Warren has assisted dozens of project in attaining ISO-9000:2000, CMM Level 3, and CMMI Level 5 certification at four major aerospace companies. Rick Hefner, PhD, is the Senior Manager of Process Initiatives at TRW, where he leads efforts in process improvement, assessment, and training. He has over 25 years of experience in software and systems development, research, and management, and has served in industrial, academic, and government positions. Dr. Hefner has published over 30 papers, and teaches in both industrial and university programs. He is a SEI-authorized Lead Assessor for the CMMI SCAMPI and SW-CMM CBA-IPI assessment methods, and a charter member of the CMM Integration (CMMI) project.
