| Friday, April 1, 2005 Meeting Topic:Function Points and Model Driven Requirements Understanding Abstract Join us in the continuation of our interactive discussions in contributing to the Southern CA/LA SPIN survey of "What does it take in the real world to make good software?" We are starting a new topic series based on Function Point Analysis. George Huling will be leading an interactive based discussion on Value Based Software Engineering (VBSE) and Model Driven Architecture (MDA). Mr. Huling will discuss the importance of putting more emphasis on requirements in VBSE and considering the impact of Model Driven Requirements Understanding (MDRU). He will share his insight about putting more requirements understanding into VBSE and MDSE, and how function points fit well with MDRU. Following the format of the last three lively series of discussions on "Bridging the Gap Between Systems Engineering and Software Engineering", the SPIN will continue to conduct the next several meetings in a discussion format on the Function Point topic with moderators to facilitate audience participation. Based on the discussions we will identify and prioritize the applications of how function point analysis supports creating good software. We will have flip charts and note takers so that the discussion can be captured for review. If you wish to receive email flyers of future meetings please send a blank email, with a subject line of "subscribe" to: spin@uces.csulb.edu SoCal
