Abstract
Southern California SPIN will be featuring a panel discussion on the topic of "Tales from the Test Trenches". The panel will be led by Dr. Emmanuel Baker, Software Engineering Consultants and Yolanda de Oro, Boeing. Panelists will discuss the trials and tribulations of test programs and "Tales from the Trenches". The audience will be solicited to ask the panelists for their experience on "real world" test problems and solutions.
For the first half of the meeting the Panelists will discuss their "Best Test Experiences"; "Worst Test Experiences" and "Lessons Learned".
The second half of the presentation will be audience questions.
Additionally, as time allows, we will address the following topics of interest that were raised at last month's meeting:
- How do you develop SW testing to actually verify the System requirements?
- How do you create an environment which increases stakeholder and customer involvement in front end planning?
- What needs to be addressed in Verification and Validation planning, to include data recording and documentation plans so that a viable test program is created?
- When you recognize that customer plan and agreements are insufficient to produce the product properly, how do you get the situation rectified?
- Does Agile testing work?
- Does Test Driven Development Work?
- Can you size testing by # of lines of code?
- Are there any COTS products on the market that actually improve the test effort?
- What is the best strategy for software safety testing?
