| Friday, November 05, 2004 Meeting Topic:"Process Secrets from the Women in Black" Presenter:
Kim Caputo Abstract Learn the
secrets to achieving the SPI Mission, being heard, getting past “the
wall”, obtaining sponsorship, engaging and involving managers and
developers, and keeping process groups motivated. This tutorial was first
presented at the SEPG Conference in 2001, and has been back by popular
demand in every year since. It emphasizes what's important to executives,
managers, developers, and process groups, and what’s the secret
to reaching them. These are the secrets of the Women in Black (Kim Caputo,
Joan Weszka, Roselyn Whitney, Cora Carmody, and Beth Gramoy). By demonstrating
how to effectively communicate the message of quality and productivity,
and why some things you thought would work just don’t have the right
effect on people, we cover practical techniques with a lot of information,
examples, and audience participation. The original presenters have many
decades of diverse experience, have performed in many roles, including
SEPG leads and team members, executives, business owners, consultants,
software and systems engineers, managers, authors, and instructors, and
have each lead successful outcomes of systems/software process improvement.
This is a “must attend” presentation for anyone in the process
business. Newbies will get good advice for how to plan and initiate a
successful program; middle-bies will get some great ideas for accelerating
their improvement program; and old-bies will get an opportunity for revitalizing
and sharing experiences. Your
